Navigating the Pressures of University Life and Transitions
UCLA is a hyper-competitive environment, and university life doesn’t pause for summer break. When the intense pressure to achieve combines with isolating relationship struggles, friendship fractures, dating anxiety, or total avoidance, it isn’t a lack of discipline—it’s burnout. Whether you are an undergraduate trying to rebuild a routine, a graduate student navigating intense research isolation, or a recent graduate facing post-college anxiety, I provide a safe, identity-affirming space. I help you rebuild your emotional foundation so you can function, connect, and thrive without sacrificing your well-being.
- Undergrad Focus: Overcoming paralyzing exam anxiety, managing severe intrusive thoughts (OCD), navigating painful dating or friendship dynamics, escaping depressive loops, and breaking out of procrastination cycles.
- Graduate & PhD Focus: Dissolving research isolation, managing toxic advisor or peer dynamics, setting hard boundaries with family, coping with severe imposter syndrome, and balancing demanding workloads.
Targeted Care Designed for How You Live and Connect
- Neurodiversity & Time Management: Real, shame-free executive functioning tools designed for ADHD and other neurodiverse minds. I focus on tracking your energy, not just your time.
- OCD & Anxiety Interventions: Actionable, evidence-based tools (including ERP and CBT concepts) to disrupt intrusive thoughts and quiet constant mental chatter.
- Relationship & Boundary Support: Navigating the complex anxieties of dating, handling friendship fractures, managing roommate conflicts, and untangling heavy family expectations.
- Depression & Burnout Recovery: Gently unpacking the root causes of exhaustion, building sustainable self-compassion, and re-engaging with what matters to you.

Hassle-Free Insurance. Use Your Anthem UC SHIP
I believe high-quality mental health care shouldn’t cause financial stress. Because I am In-Network with Anthem Blue Cross, your counseling sessions are highly covered under UC SHIP.
If UC SHIP is your primary insurance: The billing process is completely streamlined. You do not have to pay the full session rate upfront or handle complex insurance paperwork. My system bills Anthem directly, and you are only responsible for your standard plan copay at the time of your session.
If you also have a parent’s commercial insurance: As long as your parent’s plan is an Anthem plan, I can still see you! Their commercial Anthem policy acts as your primary insurance, and your Anthem UC SHIP will seamlessly step in as your secondary coverage to pick up remaining costs.
If you have Medi-Cal: Your Anthem UC SHIP acts as your primary insurance, meaning your sessions remain fully covered under your student health benefits.
Note for Grads: Graduating seniors remain fully covered by their spring UC SHIP fees through the end of the plan year September 20, 2026.
Frequently Asked Questions
1. Will my parents or UCLA professors know I am in therapy?
No. Your privacy is protected by law. Under HIPAA regulations, everything we discuss in our telehealth sessions is strictly confidential. I cannot and will not share any information with UCLA faculty, housing staff, or your parents without your explicit, written consent.
2. How does using Anthem UC SHIP work? Do I have to pay upfront?
Because I am fully In-Network with Anthem, the process is easy and transparent:
- If UC SHIP is your only plan (or paired with Medi-Cal): UC SHIP is your primary insurance. We simply charge your standard plan copay at the time of your session, and my system handles the rest directly with Anthem.
- If you are covered under a parent’s plan: A parent’s commercial plan legally acts as your primary insurance, while UC SHIP acts as your secondary plan. However, because I accept all commercial Anthem plans, we can still work together. We will bill your parent’s Anthem plan first, and use your UC SHIP to cover the rest. (Please note: If your parents have a non-Anthem commercial plan, you must check your primary out-of-network benefits first).
3. I am graduating this June. Can I still use my UC SHIP over the summer?
Yes. If you paid your UC SHIP fees for the Spring Quarter, your coverage does not vanish on graduation day. Your Anthem benefits automatically extend all the way through the end of the plan year on September 20, 2026. This makes the summer an ideal time to get transition support before your student benefits reset.
4. What actually happens during the free 15-minute consultation?
Think of it as a casual, zero-pressure conversation. We will log onto a secure video link, briefly talk about the primary challenges you are facing (like burnout, anxiety, or relationship stress), and ensure my clinical approach aligns with your needs. If it feels like a good match, we will look at the calendar and schedule your first official session.
5. Do I have to be physically in Los Angeles to do telehealth sessions with you?
No. Because I am a licensed mental health provider in California, you can log into our secure video portal from anywhere within the state of California, Florida, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. If you go home to the Bay Area, San Diego, or any of the listed states for summer break, we can seamlessly keep your weekly sessions going.
Don’t Stay Stuck in the Cycle.
Skip the campus waiting lists. Let’s see if we are a good match.
Services are available to individuals physically located anywhere across California, Florida, North Carolina and Pennsylvania via telehealth.
